AV Weekly Wildcat – December 27 2020

It’s Time for a Winter Break

Congratulations, AV Families for making it through the first half of the school year. We know it has been a very challenging time to be a student, teacher, or caregiver. But we are making it through each day, and even when we don’t realize it, we are learning resourcefulness and perseverance. We hope you are giving yourself some grace these days and we hope the winter break brings you moments of peace. Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2021.

See you back in class on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Popsicle Sales on PAUSE

The fifth grade promotion committee will be taking a break from selling popsicles in the month of December. If safety allows, we will be back with sweet frozen treats in January.

New Contactless Supply Pickup

With LA County’s new Safer at Home order issued to begin on Monday (11/30) and in an effort to keep the AV community as healthy as possible, we are going to implement a contactless supply pick-up. When picking up your child’s materials, the bag will be labeled with your child’s name and will be placed on a table in your teacher’s designated pick-up location. We ask that you drive through and quickly grab your materials (without students in tow), asking only one family to be at the materials table at a time. Until we hear otherwise, I believe this is the safest way to get learning materials out while still following county mandates and safety protocols. Teachers or volunteers will not be present during your pick-up time.  Please do your best to pick-up your child’s materials during their designated time.  We want to keep all of our teachers, staff, students and families as safe and healthy as possible.

COVID Protocols for ALL Volunteers

Anyone volunteering at AV must complete online health screening and temp check before coming. Kid helpers will not be allowed on campus during volunteer shifts. Complete your health screening HERE.

AV Directory

On Thursday 11/5, all AV PTA members should have received a link to the AV Directory via email. If you are a PTA member and you did not receive the link, or you are not a member and would like to join to receive a copy, please email  Megan Gardner. Not a PTA member yet? Don’t forget to join the PTA .

Thank you to our directory volunteers, Marion Johnson and Alex Zepkowski, for their hard work putting the directory together.
