Read Across America Week
Our virtual Read Across America Week was a huge success. Thank you to our celebrity Story Night readers: Principal Sinclair, Mrs. Yee, Megan Gardner, South Pasadena Librarian Judy Neeb, Mr. Jehue, Mrs. Baydaline, Mrs. Gresham, Mr. Mannal, David Booher, Mrs. Busick, and our host Kelly Kwan. Props to Mr. Jehue, and former AV student Nora Monroe and her mom Kasey Monroe for “chalking the walk” around the school. Thank you to authors Jennifer Torres and David Booher for their special presentations to our upper grades.
As part of RAA week, some of exceptional friends posted recorded readings of their favorite books. Find and enjoy them HERE.
If your student hasn’t received their book from Vroman’s, it should arrive soon. Thank you to Patti Urzua for coordinating books for all.
None of this is possible without our trusty RAA committee! Thank you: Karissa Chabner, Megan Gardner, Kelly Kwan, Heidi Mayne, and Patti Urzua.

TK-2nd Reopening Resources
We are including some resources to keep handy as we bravely go forward into reopening AV.
The School Reopening Playbook includes important protocols and information for a safe return to campus. Please know that the AV staff will work with the community and the children to teach, support, and monitor adherence. Our AV Wildcats are quick learners and we are sure that these new safety procedures will become part of the students’ daily practice. Reviewing this document with your child in advance of our return will be helpful, and as children are naturally inquisitive, we expect that they may have questions.
