WOW Workshop Magic Show

On Friday, December 11th, Arroyo Vista students will attend a school assembly hosted by “School of Astonishment,” which will lead a 30-minute interactive magic show called the WOW Workshop.  During this assembly, students will learn how to perform three cool magic tricks from some things they can grab from the house – an empty toilet paper roll (no paper), a dollar bill and a coin, and a deck of cards!   If they don’t have these items, they can still watch and enjoy the show.  Start times to follow via teacher and school emails.   See you then!

New Contactless Supply Pickup

With LA County’s new Safer at Home order issued to begin on Monday (11/30) and in an effort to keep the AV community as healthy as possible, we are going to implement a contactless supply pick-up. When picking up your child’s materials, the bag will be labeled with your child’s name and will be placed on a table in your teacher’s designated pick-up location. We ask that you drive through and quickly grab your materials (without students in tow), asking only one family to be at the materials table at a time. Until we hear otherwise, I believe this is the safest way to get learning materials out while still following county mandates and safety protocols. Teachers or volunteers will not be present during your pick-up time.  Please do your best to pick-up your child’s materials during their designated time.  We want to keep all of our teachers, staff, students and families as safe and healthy as possible.

COVID Protocols for ALL Volunteers

Anyone volunteering at AV must complete online health screening and temp check before coming. Kid helpers will not be allowed on campus during volunteer shifts. Complete your health screening HERE.

AV Directory

On Thursday 11/5, all AV PTA members should have received a link to the AV Directory via email. If you are a PTA member and you did not receive the link, or you are not a member and would like to join to receive a copy, please email  Megan Gardner. Not a PTA member yet? Don’t forget to join the PTA .

Thank you to our directory volunteers, Marion Johnson and Alex Zepkowski, for their hard work putting the directory together.
