AV Weekly Wildcat – September 6 2020

Slide Show Submissions

We are gearing up for our next slide show! The theme is, ‘Staying Active.’ Snap a photo of your child in a sporty moment whether it’s ball-skills, biking, skating, pool-splashing, getting their dance moves on, or just out for a family walk. Send photo submissions to [email protected] by MIDNIGHT on September 8th to be featured in the next school-wide assembly!

Wish Night Update

We have 51% Wish Night participation and it’s not too late to push that number higher. We will be providing teachers with their Classroom Totals soon, so please make your donation by Sunday, September 13. Thank you, families! Our teachers, staff, and administrators appreciate every dollar. And good news, 100% of your donation stays right here at Arroyo Vista!

Donate online at ptav.org/wish-night, drop off a check at the AV front office, or snail-mail a check (along with your donation form) to: Arroyo Vista, Attn: Wish Night, 335 El Centro St.

Got questions? Contact, Erik Gammell, VP of Wish Night.

No-Sweat Fundraiser Goal Met!

Fall Forms Participation–Treats for Top Classes

All classes with 90% participation and above for Fall Forms participation were treated to OTTER POPS! Great job to the entire school again for having an overall participation rate 82%! Thank you parents for all of your support.

Wildcat Art

Need some outside time? Come take a walk by AV and visit the newly installed wildcat glass art by local artist and 4th Grade dad, Tim Carey.

The fused-glass bobcat artwork was the Class Gift from the 2020 5th Graders, and students from the class participated in helping create the border around the piece.

Big thank you to Tim Carey for your time and talent with this indelible gift.

Home Health Survey

The following home health check is to be completed if you intend to visit the Arroyo Vista Campus. To complete, scan barcode or type https://go-job.io/ydto into your browser.

Recorded Meetings

Did you miss one of the many school-related meetings? We’ve got you covered. Find past recorded meetings, agendas, financial documents, and the zoom link for all public PTA meetings  HERE.

Technical Assistance

If your child is struggling with technical difficulties, try one of these options:

  1. Parent tech helper list.
  2.  SPUSD tech support hotline: (805) 285-2526
  3.  SPUSD tech support email:  [email protected]

Tip: If your class doesn’t have a helper and you’re in a tech pinch… try calling a helper from another class.

Other Ways to Support AV

One thing in 2020 is soothingly unchanged: Box tops. Scan your grocery store receipt showing purchase of Box Tops for Education pantry staples to earn money for AV.
