The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, boosting student confidence and success in both the arts and life.
Each year, over 300,000 students from Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art based on a student-created theme. This 50+-year-old program helps students explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and discover a love for learning that will help them succeed in school and life.
Students submit their original works in one or more of the available arts categories and participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K – Grade 2) and Intermediate (Grades 3-5).
Art Categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
- Unleash creative talents and be inspired
- Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
- Experience the fun and joy of making art
- Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
- Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.
