Even after a year off, Read Across America was a tremendous success. Thank you to all the volunteer parent readers and community readers (David Plenn from the Dinosaur Farm, the South Pasadena Police Department, and Mr. Ross just to name a few). Whiskers also made an appearance in many of our youngest readers’ classrooms! A local citizen came by with her mobile Little Free Library and handed out 60 books, a grandparent made the Pigeon driving the bus as a fun photo op, and the kids had a blast dressing up each day. All in all, what a nice way to bring the community and a sense of normalcy back to AV. Finally, thank you especially to Monica Ott and Natalie Barral for co-chairing the committee and escorting community readers to classrooms all week.
