- There are many ways to be involved at Arroyo Vista, and many of the events and programs we run would not happen without the time, dedication, and hard work of our fabulous volunteers. If you’d like to help out, please complete the form below. If you are interested in being a room parent, you must check it on this form to let the PTA know.

Volunteer Choice Descriptions
(dates subject to change)
All City Track Meet (5/1/20) Students from AV, Monterey Hills, Marengo, and Holy Family participate in a city-wide track and field competition. Volunteers assist at practices and/or on the day of event.
Art Happenings (TBD in Fall, Winter and Spring) Volunteers work with AV Art Docent, to provide creative activities for students after school once per trimester.
Art Volunteer (All School Year) Volunteers work with AV’s Art Docent and/or their child’s teacher to organize and implement art activities in the classroom.
AV Gives Back (TBD) Volunteers are needed to help organize an annual family-friendly event, themed around giving back to our community.
AV Marketplace (12/14/19) Kids develop business plans and sell their own homemade goods and services. Volunteers help organize, work on day of event, etc.
Book Fair (11/18/19 – 11/22/19 and 4/27/20 – 5/1/20) Volunteers are needed to help set up, clean up, and work shifts during both Book Fairs.
Emergency Drills Volunteers participate in emergency drills that help school staff and students prepare for disasters.
Family Science Night (11/13/19) Volunteers are needed during this fun, informational and interactive science-themed showcase to help with set-up, clean-up and guiding presenters to their classrooms.
Jog-a-Thon (2/28/20) Volunteers are needed to help set up, clean-up, mark students’ laps, serve water, etc. during this important PTA fundraiser.
Read Across America (3/6/20) Help with activities and classroom reading at this fun all school event to celebrate Dr. Seuss and Children’s love of reading.
Red Ribbon Week (10/21/19 – 10/25/19) Volunteers are needed to be classroom speakers and/or help plan and present activities and events during the week-long national initiative to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Room Parent (All School Year) Work with your child’s teacher to coordinate parents to help with classroom activities throughout the year. Serve as a liaison to the PTA and help find volunteers for school-wide programs.
Science Fair (2/20/20) Volunteers are needed to help students set up science fair experiments the morning of the event.
Sports Day (5/29/20) Volunteers are needed to help supervise, run, and engage children during sports activities and games at this annual “field day” event.
Talent Show (TBD) Volunteers are needed to assist at auditions and performances to set up, clean up, and keep the show running smoothly.
Teacher Appreciation Week (5/4/20 – 5/8/20) Volunteers are needed to help treat our great teachers by helping serve and clean up at activities like coffees, lunches, etc.
Vision & Hearing Screening (10/11/19) Volunteers are needed to help organize the K, 2nd, and 5th grade students.
