Staff Appreciation Week Recap

Last week, AV celebrated our annual Staff Appreciation Week! We started the week off right with a delicious lunch from Four Cafe, which had everyone asking for the address. Tuesday, Charlie’s Coffee House generously donated a crowd-pleasing bagel breakfast spread, which the staff enjoyed with beautiful fruit and vegetable platters from our pals at Whole Foods Market. Midweek brought tacos from Highland Park’s HomeState and a visit from our friends at The Lobsta Truck, who came out for the second year in a row to offer their incredible lobster rolls and clam chowder. Hand-delivered milk tea, lemonades, and slushies from locally-owned TeaMorrow made Thursday a bit more refreshing. The week was capped off with an in-kind donation of all the coffee everyone could drink from Starbucks, along with a bevy of sweet and salty treats – the favorites being provided by AV parent Natalie Barral‘s own NB Sweets and More.

Room parents collected classroom contributions to provide teachers and all ancillary staff with gift cards to enjoy on their days off, while volunteers handwrote thank-you cards to each member of the AV faculty. The staff were also treated to onsite massages for a moment of respite in their busiest time of year.

Thank you again to everyone who made this week happen for our phenomenal staff. A BIG thank you to The Lobster Truck’s owners, AV parents Justin Mi and Jennifer Nguyen, as well as Kelly Margrave, owner of Charlie’s Coffee House, for their incredible donations! A HUGE thank you to Minsun Meeker, Jamie Lee, and O’ryan McKinney-Bruskin for organizing this event. And of course, the biggest thank you to the teachers and staff for the wonderful work you do every day in our community at Arroyo Vista. Your dedication and hard work are unmatched!
