Fall Forms
Thank you to everyone who filled out the Fall Forms and for your continued support of AV PTA! Congratulations to those classes with an astounding 100% participation on their Fall Forms! What’s even better – 92% of our entire school (and counting!) participated and with such incredible participation, ALL CLASSES will receive a popsicle party in the coming weeks!
Wish Night
Wish Night donations are rolling in! Thank you to everyone who has supported AV classrooms through your Wish Night donations. While we are off to a great start, we had a few technical glitches on our website. These issues have been fixed and our website is now running like a charm! If you had trouble making your donation online earlier, we invite you to give it another shot. Your support means a lot, and we want to make the process as smooth as possible for you.

5th Grade Parents Needed!
Each month, a different grade will be asked to volunteer to keep our drop-off lanes running. Without volunteers, we will have to close the lanes. September is 5th grade month. If you are a 5th grade parent, please, please, please sign up for a day or 3 or 4. We need 4 volunteers per day! Sign Up HERE.
AV Equity Meeting – 8/31 @7pm
Do you want to be a part of creating a school community where everyone belongs, diversity is celebrated and you advocate for equity? Please join us THURSDAY, August 31 @7pm for our 1st virtual AV Equity Committee meeting of the 23/24 school year! We will be discussing our goals for the year and plans for celebrating Diversity Week in October. Come learn how you can be involved – All Are Welcome!
Bike Bus – EVERY Tuesday!
The Bike is now riding weekly! Join the fun, make some friends, and enjoy the fresh air every Tuesday morning starting 7:55am. For more info, see https://southpasactive.org
Traffic Reminders
The AV PTA would like to remind everyone that the safety of our students, staff, and families is of the utmost importance.
Do’s
- Take your time driving around campus.
- Be extra cautious when driving through intersections.
- Lookout for pedestrians & bikers.
- When possible, park a few blocks away from campus and walk.
- Utilize crosswalks & crossing guards.
Don’ts
- Don’t double park while dropping off & picking up your child.
- Don’t j-walk or cross without the guard.
- Don’t park or drop off your child in red zones.
- Don’t block or park in driveways.
- Doran St. (Back Gate) is closed to cars.
We encourage walking and biking!
There is a bike locker on campus for kids to store their bikes and scooters
