AV Students Engage in Mindfulness

In January, AV’s character trait focus was MINDFULNESS.  All month, students practiced mindfulness in their classrooms and on the playground.  Dr. M’s class is pictured here beneath the “Character Trait Word Wall” on the playground.  They very much embody the words hanging above them, as do so many of our AV students and families.

Thank you for helping students remember to practice mindfulness and kindness at home as well as in school!  February’s focus will be on PROBLEM SOLVING.

5th Grade Parents Needed!

Each month, a different grade will be asked to volunteer to keep our drop-off lanes running. Without volunteers, we will have to close the lanes. February is 5th grade month! If you are a 5th grade parent, please, please, please sign up for a day or 3 or 4. We need 4 volunteers per day!   Sign Up HERE.

Do You Have Questions?

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Megan Gardner, PTA President, or Erik Gammell, PTA Executive Vice President.

¿Tienes preguntas? El maestro de su hija/o o la oficina principal pueden ponerlos en contacto con una familia en AV que hable español.

South Pasadena children and teens are encouraged to use their imagination and design a one-of-a-kind bookmark inspired by the 2022 Summer Reading Program theme “Read Beyond the Beaten Path” or that promotes books, reading and libraries. Bookmark Contest entries must be delivered to the Children’s Services desk by Wednesday, March 1, 2022.

Entries will be judged according to four age categories. Winners will be announced in early April in honor of National Library Week.
