AV Staff Appreciation Lunch
The AV PTA welcomed back our amazing staff from winter break with the year’s second staff appreciation lunch on Friday, January 7th. The staff enjoyed delicious, boxed lunches of sandwiches and salad from San Marino Cafe & Marketplace, beautifully decorated with a pressed flower from the South Pasadena Rose Parade float. Charlie’s Coffee House once again donated coffee and tea, and Trader Joe’s provided flowers for decor.
Thank you to San Marino Cafe & Marketplace, Charlie’s Coffee House, the South Pasadena Rose Parade Float, and Trader Joe’s for providing discounts or in-kind donations. We wanted to kick off 2022 with this staff lunch to show our continued appreciation for how tirelessly our AV staff are working to provide a safe and enriching year for our kids during these challenging times!
A BIG thank you to the Staff Appreciation Committee Chairs, Anna Festa and Minsun Meeker for organizing this event.

AV Parent Directories for PTA Members
AV Directories were distributed to all PTA members last week. If you did not get an email with a link to the directory, this most likely means that you are not a PTA member. Join the PTA HERE and we will send you a copy. If you didn’t receive one, but you think you are a member, please reach out to Vivan Tran, Membership Chair, at [email protected]. Thank you to Marion Johnson and Alex Zepkowski for volunteering to prepare the directories.
What is Social Emotional Learning (SEL)?
SEL – What is it? And why is it Important?
Local South Pasadena parent, Oscar Madrigal, recently explained both clearly and concisely what Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is and why it is so important! Check out Oscar’s 16 minute video presentation here.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to learn about SEL from your AV PTA!
