Weekly Wildcat – March 10

AV Gives Back Recap

We had an amazing turnout for the AV Gives Back Family Volunteer Day! Families from every South Pasadena elementary school came to complete kid-friendly service projects, including rope toys for shelter dogs out of recycled t-shirts, birthday bags for food-insecure youth, hygiene kits for unhoused individuals, and emergency kits for at-risk neighbors! Families also spent time reading children’s books addressing social issues. Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped make this community event a success! Big thanks to Kelly Kwan and her organization, Good SamariTots, for planning and running the event.

We Did It! Jog-A-Thon Update

Our kids gave it their all and SO DID YOU! Our entire teaching and administrative staff, and hundreds of volunteers came together to make this year’s event a success – beating our fundraising goal and raising over $57,000 from well over 1,000 pledges received from across the nation.

Thank you to all the friends and family, near and far, who invested in our school community! Students brought strength, endurance, and thousands of miles of school spirit.

Together, we SURPASSED OUR GOAL of $55,000.  These funds will go directly to help fund assemblies, field trips, special services, events, and technology that AV PTA brings to our children year after year! We couldn’t do it without you!!!!

Stay tuned for more updates on the winners of the coveted Golden Shoe and final results on lap tallies!
