School Service Awards

On Wednesday the PTA held its Honorary Service Awards & Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, it was wonderful to be able to thank all of our volunteers in person this year. During the breakfast the PTA gave Certificates of Appreciation to Judy Asakura, Anna Festa & Tim McMullen, Amber Jaeger, Stella Jang, Andy Perry and Jaime Thompson. We also recognized the following individuals with Honorary School Service Awards: Nancy Riffle, Patricia Urzua and Jennifer Wang for their extensive service to the AV community. Thank you to Jenn Koca and Erik Gammell for organizing the breakfast and to all the volunteers that have made this year at Arroyo Vista so special.

AV Talent Show Recap

After a 3 year hiatus, AV put on a fantastic Talent Show Thursday night. It was precious to see our kids shine on stage again: singing, dancing, playing instruments, jump roping, performing string formations, solving Rubix cubes, showing gymnastic and boxing skills. What talents at AV! We had a large supportive audience of families and community friends in the Middle School Auditorium and nearly 500 Live stream viewers!

The Show ended with the grand final “Dancing Through the Decades”, performed by 5th graders and choreographed by Alison Smith, which brought the audience to their feet. It was a moment to remember!

Thank you to all the performers, their parents, AV 5th grader stage crew, Marengo Elementary School parents: Joey Bland and Abraham Acuna, SPMS Principal Cheryl Busick, Alison Smith and and the whole audience! And most of all, than you to the Talent Show Committee Co-Chairs for breathing life back to this AV program, Charles Do, Cristen Zeisler, Elena Bocharova, Ellen Yang, and Adi St. Vaughn.

Thank You for the New Pulley System, Wove Arts!

Thank you to AV parents, Tim McMullen and Anna Festa for solving a problem at AV that has been trying to find a solution for over 6 years! Tim’s company, Wove Arts, designed and implemented a new, user-friendly pulley system for hanging banners over AV’s outdoor stage. We could not be more thrilled and more grateful for your vision and follow-through!
