Weekly Wildcat – November 5

All School Sing Spirit Wear!

All School Sing rehearsals are underway! Our SCHOOL OF ROCK theme incorporates songs spanning 6 decades and several genres of rock music. We encourage kiddos to dress the part for our December 15th performance! Clothing inspired by any style of rock is preferred, as long as it adheres to the AV Appropriate School Dress Policy. Denim and Black clothing are Rock n’ Roll staples that you may already have in your closet. Pinterest is also a great resource for DIY ideas. If you need assistance, contact Kelly Kwan.

For the first time, we’re introducing All School Sing Spirit Wear specific to our theme! Participation is TOTALLY OPTIONAL, but an easy way to dress your kiddo for the performance (and get some AV rock merch for yourself!!). Last day for orders is November 15th.

Click HERE to order AV School of Rock merch.

Wish Night Alert – Embrace the Season of Thanks!

As we step into November, and close out our first trimester of school, we give thanks for the incredible staff at Arroyo Vista. Your support of Wish Night is not only a chance to create lasting memories for your child but also a fantastic way to show our staff how much they mean to your family.

If you haven’t had a chance to donate, now is the perfect moment to make a meaningful difference. Remember to check with your employer on matching donations, and let’s extend the invite to Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and friends.

Head over to ptav.org/wish-night or drop your form and donation off at the front office in an envelope marked “Wish Night.”

3rd Grade Parents Needed!

Each month, a different grade will be asked to volunteer to keep our drop-off lanes running. Without volunteers, we will have to close the lanes. November is 3rd grade month. If you are a 3rd grade parent, please, please, please sign up for a day or 3 or 4. We need 4 volunteers per day!   Sign Up HERE.

SPMS PTA Needs A Nominating Committee!

Every PTA elects a Nominating Committee in the fall.  The committee is responsible for creating a slate of candidates for next year’s PTA Executive Board, which for SPMS will be voted on in March 2024.  In terms of commitment, committee members have an introductory meeting and then start reaching out to current board members and other parents in the community to see who would be interested and a good fit on next year’s PTA Executive Board, before ultimately “nominating” a slate of candidates.  (These candidates may include those serving on the committee.). SPMS PTA will be electing its Nominating Committee at the next General Association meeting in mid-November.  If you are a parent/guardian of a current 5th grader who plans to attend SPMS next year and are interested in serving on the committee, please email [email protected].  Thank you, and go future Tiger Cubs! – Brian Mahler / SPMS PTA Parliamentarian
