Art Reflections Recap
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s PTA Reflections Art Contest! Thursday’s art show was a huge success and a great opportunity to congratulate all the winners and showcase all submissions. Arroyo Vista is proud to have so many talented and creative student artists.
If you weren’t able to submit this year, there is always next year… and with a brand new theme!
A huge thank you to this year’s Reflections committee chairs Tapasya Srivastava and Rachael Rendon for their hard work putting together such a great program.
Assembly Recap
AV students had their first in-person assembly of the year. The PTA, in coordination with the AV Equity Committee, sponsored a wonderful performance by The Music Center of Los Angeles County. This performance was entitled “Proud to Be Me” and featured the storytelling group We Tell Stories. “Proud to Be Me” is a multicultural storytelling experience exploring the concept of pride in oneself through three different stories from three different cultures.
A huge thank you to Eve Troeh for bringing this event to the students and staff at AV.
AV Equity – Diversity Week
As part of a Diversity Week celebration, AV Equity organized an art project during 1st recess this past week. Each grade from 1st – 5th contributed drawings in a different color from the rainbow, which were hung together to form a collaborative art wall on the playground. Students enjoyed watching the wall grow over the course of the 4 days and finding their unique piece of the collective whole.

Wish Night
Donations are trickling in for Wish Night, but we aren’t done yet! Imagine our school without the joy of Bubblemania, our beautifully cultivated school garden, or the unforgettable experience of watching ducklings hatch. These moments, cherished by our students, are made possible through your support, and right now we need your help more than ever.
Our numbers have creeped up to 61% participation, but we are still far off from the 75% of families that donated last year. If you haven’t donated, now is the perfect time! Head over to ptav.org/wish-night or drop your form and donation at the front office, in an envelope marked Wish Night.
4th Grade Parents Needed!
Each month, a different grade will be asked to volunteer to keep our drop-off lanes running. Without volunteers, we will have to close the lanes. October is 4th grade month. If you are a 4th grade parent, please, please, please sign up for a day or 3 or 4. We need 4 volunteers per day! Sign Up HERE.
Bike Bus – EVERY Tuesday!
The Bike is now riding weekly! Join the fun, make some friends, and enjoy the fresh air every Tuesday morning starting 7:55am. For more info, see https://southpasactive.org
