The Reflections Art Contest is Your Next Wildcat Adventure!
Do you enjoy art, music, photography, film, writing or dance? Join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with the PTA Reflections. The National PTA Reflections Art Program has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. This year’s theme is “I Will Change the World By…” Students use the theme as an inspiration for their art. Visit ptav.org/pta-reflections to view the Reflections national art gallery for inspiration and to learn more about the contest, prizes and scholarships. *Special Artist Division for students who identify as having a disability.

Submissions are due by October 15th.
Reflections is a Wildcat Adventure event. Earn points for your class and a chance to win a raffle prize when you participate. Keep an eye out for the flyer to scan after the due date!
4th Grade Parents Needed!
Each month, a different grade will be asked to volunteer to keep our drop-off lanes running. Without volunteers, we will have to close the lanes. October is 4th grade month! If you are a 4th grade parent, please, please, please sign up for a day or 3 or 4. We need 4 volunteers per day! Sign Up HERE.

Wish Night Update: Thank you to those who participated in Wish Night with your gifts, corporate matches and by spreading the word. Every dollar makes an impact. Our teachers and school wide staff have their preliminary totals to enhance your children’s educational experiences.
To best serve our AV Community, I will be highlighting Wish Night in our new Weekly Wildcat segment, Teacher Feature! This week, meet our first grade teachers.

AV Parent Party – Save The Date!
Whoomp! There it is! Dust off your leg warmers, tease up your hair, this year’s AV’s Parent Party is about to get N’Sync with your inner 80s and 90s vibe! We’re going to kick it into high LA Gear with a totally bodacious trivia night. We’ve been Livin’ on a Prayer for way too long, so Don’t Stop Believin’ that fun can be had from anywhere! Let’s pump up those Reeboks, unsnap one side of our overalls, and save the date! More gnarly details to follow.

Ink Drinkers is Back!
Hello all parents of book-lovers! Ink Drinkers book club is starting up again soon with AV’s wonderful librarian, Mrs. Baydaline, once again at the helm. Ink Drinkers will be virtual this fall, with the hope that we may be able to return to in-person later in the year. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

5th Grade Musical Parent Info Meeting
5th grade parents! The musical auditions are coming up! Please check spef4kids.org/programs/5th-grade-musical/ for more information. Download the 5GM Info Packet to find out about the Parent Info Meeting on Tuesday, September 28th. Performances are February 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Reminders to Parents About Arrival, Dismissal and Your Dogs
- You can find the arrival and dismissal gates and traffic reminders HERE. Please remember to abide by all traffic and crosswalk rules when driving and walking around campus.
We love dogs! Your dogs are members of our AV family, and we welcome them to drop-off and pickup. Please keep in mind that some children are afraid of dogs, so pay attention when kids are around and keep your pup on a leash and close to you at all times. And of course, always remember to clean up after them!
